Camera Screen

To sample the color with the camera, select the camera tab (second from the left). The iPhone camera will launch automatically. After you take the picture the camera will ask you to adjust the picture. You can use pinching motion to enlarge the area with the color you want. Touch "Use Photo" button when you are done.

The picture you have just taken will automatically load into colorSutra. Touch inside of the picture to select color. You can use brightness (top) and saturation (bottom) sliders to adjust color. You can now select the display tab to see the matching colors.

If you select the camera tab again, you will see the same picture: the camera does not launch automatically. You can now select a different color from the picture. If you want to take another picture, touch the oval camera button on the screen.

Tips for better camera performance:

* Make sure there is enough light. Camera performance is unreliable in the dark.

* Use brightness (top) and saturation (bottom) sliders to adjust selected color after taking picture.

* Compare the selected color (displayed on the background) directly to the color in real life by putting you iPhone side by side with the colored object.
